Rockabilly

Sinoc sam nakon dužeg vremena ponovo uzeo da čitam Alan Wilsonovu knjigu (ustvari kolekciju njegovog fanzina "Deathrow Database") "Deathrow - The Chronicals Of Psychobilly", ponakunt slušanjem The Restless tokom vožnje na relaciji Sarajevo - Konjic. Ne znam da li je iko još nabavio ovu odličnu zbirku istorije rockabilly, posebno neo-rockabilly, kulture u Britaniji. Mislim da se radi o jednom veoma dobrom radu, požrtvovanom stvaralaštvu Alana Wilsona i njegovoj želji da predstavi skoro sve s rockabilly scene u svojem fanzinu. Naravno da u svakom broju je bilo teksta o njegovom bendu "The Sharks", ali to je nebitno. Bitno je to sto na jednom mjestu imate sve relevantne informacije o skoro svim grupama s ove scene, njihove biografije, diskografije, recenzije albuma, turneje, izvjestaje s turneja i sve ostalo. Jedna cijela istorija neo rockabilly scene na jednom mjestu

Zato Vam toplo preporucujem da, ukoliko ste u mogucnosti, nabavite ovu knjigu. Ja sam istu narucio preko Raucous Records Online Shopa (najbolji rockabilly / psychobilly online shop). Cijena je, s poštarinom, oko 30KM.

Ja se iskreno nesjecam, ali kazu da je Ritam Kiše iz Banja Luke bila prvi rockabilly bend u BiH. Zahvaljujući Muriju i njegovom redovnom javljanju na forum www.sarajevo-x.com, imamo priliku da čujemo neke od ranih snimaka, koje pokazuju veoma odličan pristup rockabilly zvuku, sirov vokal i odličan ritam.

...vikend je iza nas. Mnogo se stvari desilo od petka do danas. Nabavio nesto muzike, slusao i gledao vijesti, gorivo ponovo poskupilo, Meho Kodro smjenjen, Horde Zla se vratile na Sjever, gledao Bad Boys For A Life vol.3 i spavao ... Sve u svemu čisti rokenrol ... Evo malo novih update-a.

I ovo je sve sto sam uspio pronaći. Naravno zahvaljujući ekipi iz Vera Kvark ... Mislim da nije lose malo se ovoga prisjetiti ...

Kako sam naslov kaze, jos jedan vikend je iza nas. Odmaralo se, slušala se muzika, a došlo mi je i nešto nove muzike. Prije svega novi blu ray David Gilmoura "Live At Royal Albert Hall" u kojem sam uživao (veoma dobar zvuk, ali slika nije toliko dobra, kao na blu ray formatu "BBC Planet Earth"). Nedelju sam proveo u gledanju filmova "Almost Famous" (director's cut) i "Cry Baby".

"Cry Baby" je ustvari i povod za jedno ovakvo javljanje. Jedan odličan film s početka devedesetih, režisera John Watersa s veoma dobrim dodacima. Posebno uloga vječnog buntovnika Iggy Pop-a i njegov fenomenali ples tokom Jukebox Jamboree na livadi, ostavljaju bez daha. I naravno cijela priča je borba dobrih i loših momaka (možda bolje rečeno broba doo wopa i rockabilly-ja ). Sve u svemu film koji treba imati u svojoj kolekciji, zbog odlične muzike, odličnog scenarija i dosta dobre glume (btw, Traci Lords se pojavljuje u jednoj od vodećih uloga).

Nekih novih muzičkih albuma, tokom dana ...

Jos malo i evo 10000 posjeta na ovom blogu ... onaj ko bude broj 10000 neka posalje print screen na mail: lab3352@gmail.com i saljem jedan cd (rockabilly kompilacija, jedinstvena) i kada majice budu gotove, dobija jednu. Naravno trebali bi poslati i adresu...

Ovo nije nikakav rockabilly, ali zato ima psychobilly zvuka i veoma puno odličnog, čistokrvnog, rokenrola. Radi se o blogerskoj kompilaciji Capitain Poon-a (THX).

DALE ROCKA and the VOLCANOES (Italy) - One month after forming in 1998, Dale Rocka & the Volcanoes went to play in Paris and record their first 7 inch record (You Get Alone I've Got The Blues). Shortly after, on a trip to the UK, they were amazed to hear their record being played at record hops!!!!! Since then they've been busy touring Europe and after 2 years they recorded a second 7" record that has sold out quickly!

The MADMEN - Croatia's most popular rockin’ band, they've toured all over Europe, played all the major rockabilly festivals worldwide and have two full lenght CD releases on the Rhythm Bomb Records label under their belt. Their live show can only be described as WILD!WILD!WILD!!! Make sure you don’t miss their red-hot set!

LONG TALL SONNY AND HIS WILD COWS - This six piece band from Hungary, fronted by charismatic Sonny, plays a fantastic mixture of rhythm’n’blues and rockabilly. Can't go wrong with a combination like that!! Well known in their home country of Hungary, their crowd pleasing show is sure to skyrocket them into worldwide recognition!

ADAM & his NUCLEAR ROCKETS (Croatia) - play 50s style rockabilly. A four piece band has just recorded the second album for El Toro Records which will be out later in 2008. Toured around Europe since forming in 2003. DJ'S

JACKIE and his LOADERS (Italy) - Rockin' since the early 90's, they started out as friends playing rockabilly covers for fun and quickly realized they really had something (Jackie's resemblence to 50's comedic actor Toto didn't hurt either)! They fanatically pursued the traditional 50's sound and have been wowing them in Italy ever since! This will be one of the rare opportunities to see their show outside of Italy, so don't you dare miss it!!

MISSISSIPPI QUEEN - These boys are the veterans of the Croatian rockabilly scene and the first band in Croatia to ever play with a traditional sound. With several recordings under their belt (including the smashing "Did You Say Love" album on Rhyhtm Bomb Records), the boys have been touring extensively and wowing crowds wherever they play. Sure to please, this three piece drummerless outfit will send you to rockabilly heaven!!! Look for a new release from them on Rhythm Bomb Records soon!!

PERRY'S BOOGIE - Perry is fantastic musician from Bologna, Italy and his boogie woogie pupmin' piano rock'n'roll will sure set you on fire! Dig it!

TRACY DICK (USA/ UK) - is an American living in London where she is the resident DJ at The Elephants Head in Camden. She spins her 45..s at the ACE as well as festivals and weekenders all over the globe. Barroom to ballroom this rockin gal keeps the party boppin,jivin and swinging all night long!

MISS ALOHA (UK) - is the driving force behind HULA BOOGIE! vintage music night held monthly in London's premiere retro Tiki bar South London Pacific. For the last 10 years her passion for floor stomping rhythms has lead her to DJ regularly in the best vintage music and burlesque nights in London, as well as internationally, (particularly in Paris where she is a regular face behind the decks at the Balajo and La Guinguette). Not just content with spinning the discs, MISS ALOHA is also a Jive teacher, runs a online retro accessories company (Retro L'Amour) and is part of Nina's Vintage Hair Parlour, she even has a cocktail named after her! She's an all round vintage gal
